Kenya National Policy Dialogue on Integrating RA-PURE

Abstract 

Kenya has a strong policy foundation for integrating regenerative agriculture and productive use of renewable energy (RA-PURE) solutions, but implementation remains fragmented across sectors and levels of government. Kenya National Policy Dialogue on Integrating RA-PURE, held in Nairobi on 9 July 2026, examined how existing policies, institutions, markets, financing mechanisms, and evidence can better support the adoption and scale-up of RA-PURE solutions.

The national dialogue, co-organised by SNV, AGRA, GOGLA, and partners under the Power for Food Partnership, brought together more than 100 participants from national and county governments, development partners, research institutions, academia, financial institutions, the private sector, civil society, and farmer organisations. Discussions focused on three strategic priorities: strengthening policy coherence and institutional coordination; mobilising investment and expanding market opportunities; and generating and sharing evidence for scale.

Participants identified practical actions, including establishing stronger coordination mechanisms, developing national-to-county policy frameworks, creating enabling conditions for green finance, strengthening investment cases, improving quality assurance, developing tailored financing solutions, building farmer capacity, and expanding collaborative research and collective learning. The report summarises the dialogue discussions, agreed priorities, and proposed implementation actions for national and county governments, development partners, research institutions, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
