RA-PURE Integration and Market Insights Kenya Gap Analysis Fact Sheet
Download
Abstract
This factsheet summarises the findings of a March 2026 gap analysis on regenerative agriculture and the productive use of renewable energy (PURE) among smallholder farmers in western and central Kenya. It highlights strong awareness but low adoption of integrated RA-PURE solutions, with solar irrigation emerging as the most preferred entry point and financing identified as the most significant barrier to uptake. The factsheet also outlines supplier ecosystem gaps, farmer support needs, and the importance of differentiated county-level approaches, inclusive financing, and stronger institutional support to accelerate adoption and scale practical integration at farm level. The factsheet is based on data collected across seven counties through household surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and a review of literature and policy sources.
